History of Grama Panchayat

Muttil Panchayat in Wayanad, which became an active settlement after the Malabar Rebellion of 1921 and the Thiru-Cochin migration of 1942, was formed in 1956. In the fertile soil of this place, which was initially under the control of big landlords and tribals, migrant farmers built a diverse agricultural culture through hard work. This place, where prominent figures like K.P. Haji and former MLA Madurai Vazhavatta led the social progress, survived major crises like the landslide of 1962. Initially, educational facilities were lacking here, but the renovation of schools after 1957 and the establishment of Orphanage High School created a great revolution in the field of secondary education.
